The Kids’ Bookshop is an online book store specialising in showcasing the very best books for children. Our aim is to provide you with the best possible experience in your selection of children's books; an experience centred on excellent customer service, expert advice and quality product.
We are wholly Australian owned and operated and our staff fully experienced in recommending children’s books. Most importantly, we are passionate about ensuring all kids have access to great books and stories.
Our hope is that you will find shopping with us like visiting an independent ‘bricks and mortar’ bookshop but with the convenience of browsing, asking for advice and making your selection from the comfort of your own home.
Graham Gill, Managing Director
Graham worked in IT for more than 30 years and is dedicated to the idea of technology creating efficiencies in our lives and working for us. His partner has worked as a teacher, bookseller and a senior manager in the publishing industry (specialising in children’s books) for 20 years. He is the parent of two children who were lucky enough to have had – and continue to have – an endless supply of books in their lives. Consequently he has seen the powerful social and educational value of children having access to good books.
Erin Wamala, Manager
Erin has been a teacher and is a fully qualified teacher librarian. She has worked as a children’s bookseller, as a volunteer with the Melbourne Writers’ Festival Schools’ Programme and as an education and children’s marketing consultant at Penguin Books (Australia). She is mum to Angus, Ted and Lola who naturally have a fantastic library of books to choose from. She has been an avid reader of, and advocate for, children’s books all her life.
Jackie Small, Manager
Jackie is a mum with two children Cammy & Isaac and has been a Primary School teacher for 10 years. Jackie runs her own business, our sister blog, MyLittleBookCase, and brings a creative and hands on approach to bringing books alive for children. We're lucky to have Jackie as a team member - she has a real eye for customer service and satisfaction and a love of children's literature which matches our own values and beliefs at The Kids' Bookshop.
Tegan Williamson, Manager
Tegan is a Seconday school teacher and our newest team member. She is an avid reader of children's books and brings her leadership and education skills to the business having been an English and Psychology teacher at Noble Park Secondary College in Melbourne. Tegan is also a mother of two young girls and was a loyal Kids' Bookshop customer before joining the team!
Northern Books is the 'adult' arm of our business. We are working with publishers to support adult author events in both Melbourne and Central Victoria and as a wholesaler to organisations looking to purchase corporate gifts for clients.
